Section 5 Blog Posting

        This unit took me through chapter seven in the textbook, the chapter on auxiliary views. In this unit, I learned how to draw auxiliary views to show the features of slanted surfaces. I used primary, secondary, and section auxiliary views to show features that would normally be distorted. Overall, this was another fun educational unit in Survey of Engineering Graphics. The drawing below is my favorite, including both primary and secondary auxiliary views.

Section 4 Review

        Section 4 was a fun unit on using section views to show hidden parts of the oblject, and then dimensioning everything. As always, i ran into a little trouble dimensioning, but Mr. Reece helped me fix that. Section views were easier because they don't have hidden lines. There were plaenty of work sheets, a hand drawn drawing, and three Auto CAD drawings. The one below is the edited version of my favorite.

A Fun Unit of Dimensioning

          Unit One of the Survey of Engineering Graphics class proposed the challenging tasks of dimensioning in different styles.  Different drawings form imperial to metric dimensions each taught me a new technique. I don't believe I had one perfect drawing, and I also had trouble printing with most of them, but I had fun overall.  I used rectangular coordinate and tabular dimensioning, as well as the usual dimensioning method of just laying down dimensions accordingly.  My favorite drawing this unit would have to be the Metal Casting, No. EC2-3, because it was intriguing to draw and dimension (and it had few printing troubles). I am looking forward to another unit in Survey of Engineering Graphics.
